New World/Old World Comparison
Al Guber presented New World and Old World wines in a blind tasting and asked
the attendees to determine whether they were new or old world in origin based
upon criteria he had passed out to each member. Everyone enjoyed discussing
their decision on five new and five old world wines before Al told them the
actual determination and why. April 24
Doukenie Winery; a Case Study Doukenie Winery vineyard manager David Carnes
presented the following wines and discussed production issues, site specific
concerns & key decisions made in their vineyard throughout the year to produce
the fruit flavors they want in order to produce a particular style of wine.
